I don't dispute that wedge bonders are more difficult to thread and can be frustrating, but I don't believe it is impossible. It takes patience and technique. If the staff can thread then users can be trained. It's vital to have straight thread when starting for crimped or mangled thread is impossible to get started. Or have the users switch to gold ball bonding if possible.

Cheers!

Hi All,

We are planning to purchase a wedge bonder. I used K&S (now MPP) and West Bond manual wedge bonder. But in my experience, users have difficulty threading the wires, and most of the time, it never works, and this tool requires many hours of staff support to help users and keep the tool running. I would like to know which Wedge bonder you have in your facility and any recommendations that I can buy.

Thanks

Shiva
