Hello All,

At the recent UGIM conference, the topic came up of cleanroom heists and controlled-access user supply cages and lockers.

Turns out, we just had some of the above-pictured lockers installed near our mailroom at Harvard. Here's their website: https://qtrak.net/

CNS does not own them or have anything to do with them, but they look like just the sort of thing a center might want to use for controlled access to supplies (tweezers/wafers/sputter targets/evaporator material) that a user could purchase or check out for use.

I know very little about these except they look like they might be of use. I just happened to walk past them on my way to UGIM!

FYI.

Hi Jorg,

As I was heading down from Harvard this afternoon, I came upon these electronic lockers newly installed by the Harvard mail room. This appears to be a kind of network-enabled locker system, presumably for delivering packages to students without everyone having to queue up. I didn't have time to delve into it deeply, but in light of the Monday presentations on "how to give controlled access to specific items in a traceable manner" these seem to be ready-made for our situation.

I can imagine stocking a set of these lockers with set amounts of material or numbers of wafers (5 lockers with one wafer each, some with more) to allow users to buy what they need without risk of access to more than they pay for.

Anyway, it might be handy for some folks to mention it tomorrow in one of the "house-keeping" breaks. No idea of the cost or anything, literally just saw them as I was walking by. Here's the website:
