Hi Gabe,

Angstrom is a very good choice for PVD hardware. Our lab has 4 Angstrom systems (1 E-beam, 2 Thermal, 1 LPCVD) and we are quite happy with our purchases. They have been a very good partner for our lab. We also benefit greatly by having local support since Angstrom is 30 minutes away from my office.

Nothing in the equipment world is perfect, but I would be happy to talk openly (offline) about Angstrom’s strengths and weaknesses. I’m somewhat to very familiar with the offerings from the other vendors on your list as well. I think everyone you are looking at is good.

Best,
  -Nathan

Subject: [labnetwork] Experience with Angstrom E-Beam Evaporators?

Hello All,

We are in the process of procuring a new E-Beam evaporator and considering options from Kurt J. Lesker, AJA Internation, and Angstrom Engineering; the pricing between all three vendors is comparable. We have lots experience using and maintaining KJL and AJA systems, but do not have much exposure to Angstrom Engineering's systems. We are curious for other nanolabs experience with these tools, particularly from a maintenance prospective. We plan to use this tool for both metal and oxide depositions. Any feedback or thoughts on Angstrom's E-beam systems is very much appreciated!

Kind Regards,
