Somewhat off-topic, but I believe ventilated trash cans would be classified by EPA as hazardous substance release and would be against the regulation. Same requirement dictates that containers in a fume hood are covered when not in actve use. Don't take my
word as final, your EHS may have something to say though. <br>

are many vendors for regular metal trash cans without ventilation ports . How do you collect those wastes in your cleanroom?<br>
