Hi Iulian,

Here at Draper we perform Nano-tube/Nano-wire growth in a semi-clean
area. That is to say the area is not a cleanroom but we do some
operations in a cleanhood next to the growth area. It is really
important to keep the area clean and make sure that the nanotubes/wires
do not migrate into the clean areas on shoes and gloves. Carbon
particles are very small and they can accumulate on shoes and gloves and
make a big mess inside a cleanroom. Other than that we have not seen any
other issues.

Subject: [labnetwork] nanowire growing tool

Dear Lab Network Community,

Here at Penn we are debating whether it is appropriate to have a
nanowire growing tool in the cleanroom and need some help.

- Do you have a nanowire grower in your Facility?
- Where is it located (cleanroom, general lab space)?
- What factors determined the location of the tool?
- What should we be concerned about?

Thank you very much.

Iulian
