[labnetwork] LED light source for P7 profilometers

Hi Kyle,
I don't know if a DIY component fix would be something you'd like to risk
or if that goes too far - if it shortens the circuit, then it might cause
damages that need a much more expensive fix.
And a disclaimer - this is not really my expertise, my circuit engineering
skill is more on a hobbyist level.

But if you are willing to try, and you have already traced it down and are
certain that it is the LED itself having a problem (instead of a circuit or
LED driver issue), maybe you can just replace the LED bead.
This small board looks fairly simple, and the LED bead looks very similar
to this one:
https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/lumileds/LXML-PWC1-0100/3961262
It's a 3V white LED, so if the voltage of your LED is also 3V and the size
matches, I believe it should be compatible or even be the identical model.
The LED chip appears to be surface-mounting with 3 pads on the bottom, so
it requires some techniques to remove and solder it - someone with training
in electrical engineering should be able to do it; they probably also will
have the knowledge to evaluate the compatibility and risks for the
replacement.
Hope this info helps.

Best
Houpu
