Dear Labnetwork -
At this year's UGIM meeting, MIT is trying something new. There are two working groups which have been meeting over the last ~6 weeks with the goal of sharing our collective thoughts in a panel session at the UGIM. I'm writing on behalf of the working group on "Staff Professional Development and Retention", cc'ed here. We would like to ask for your help in getting a snapshot of the facilities staffing landscape, through the following two surveys:
1.
Organizational Staffing Survey: If you are a facilities manager, we are interested in your staffing situation - the constraints, the opportunities, your insights.

2.
Staff Survey: This is for facilities staff (and if you are a facilities manager, we'd like to encourage you to distribute to your staff!) We'd like to know what challenges and benefits there are of supporting a research facility.

The surveys are confidential - any personal or facility identifiers will be removed for the UGIM presentation. What do we hope to gain from this information? We fully expect to learn a lot from our peers in this community and seed some interesting discussions on this topic at the UGIM. And perhaps this information might even help facilities managers build the case for investments in staffing...
The survey will close on Tuesday, May 28, at 5 pm Eastern.
Thank you all,
The UGIM 2024 Working Group on Staffing
