[labnetwork] PDMS processing - separate lab?

Hi Dan
We used to have PDMS processing that was done in a separate area of our
cleanroom, but there was not really a bright line of separation. That
turned out to be a problem because the uncured PDMS, and small pieces of
PDMS, still made their way out into the other parts of the cleanroom.
We now have a separate area behind a sliding door that is exclusively for
work with PDMS (which is admittedly a luxury). All work with PDMS (mixing,
curing, coring, and cutting) must be done in that area. Also, we have
radically different colored gloves for use in that area. They are put on
over the regular cleanroom gloves when they enter that area for work with
PDMS. Before they leave the area, they must remove those gloves. If they do
not remove them, the different color makes it obvious.
Hope that is helpful.
