[labnetwork] PDMS processing - separate lab?

We (LLNL) have some PDMS work at dedicated benches in the chase (class 1000), away from the majority of the microfab. For PDMS work requiring class 100 or better, we put up lightweight walls - effectively a room within a room. Not only is uncured PDMS a mess, but we've found that having PDMS in the same room as epoxy will interfere with the curing of some epoxies.

Lab Network,

I am curious how many fabs allow PDMS mixing in their main cleanrooms and how many require that work done in separate isolated spaces or noncleanroom labs. My experience has been that they can be in the same space if careful glove protocols are used to avoid spreading the unpolymerized precursors around the facility, but I am interested in other's experiences. Thanks for the shared knowledge.
