Sumitomo Electric and JX Nippon are two top tier InP substrate manufacturers for 20+ years, and they are both located in Japan. I have purchased from both of these suppliers, and Sumitomo has been very reliable with reasonable prices.

Freiberger is a German supplier that mainly makes/offers GaAs in the past, but they moved into InP and offer 3-6” InP. They may offer 2” as well if you inquire. https://freiberger.com/en/products/inp-wafer/

Coherent mostly sells processed chips and higher level assemblies, and Sherman is a 6” fab. Many of the other suppliers mentioned in this email chain are smaller suppliers that may not make the wafers fully themselves.

Hi Oles -

Coherent is a supplier of InP wafers, they produce in a number of places, but I believe Sherman, TX is their main InP manufacturing location. Their website site suggests they do offer as small as 2” diameter wafers. Not sure if you can purchase directly or if you purchase through a distributor.

Dear All,

I hope you are well. I'm reaching out to ask for indium phosphide suppliers. Due to restrictions from the Chinese government, InP wafers cannot be exported now. Does anyone know any suppliers or distributors of InP blanks (say 2") that would not be affected by this problem?

Very Respectfully,
Oles

PS: I know about UniversityWafer.com. My university needs three competitive quotes to make large-volume purchases.
