Position Description
Design, fabrication and characterization for novel SiC electrodes for
minimally invasive monitoring of the nervous system. Characterization of
electrode performance and long-term stability. Design, implementation and
analysis of experiments for the characterization of electrode performance
(readings, stimulation) in neural cultures (in vitro) and the nervous
system (in vivo). This project is funded by the FORTH Synergy grant
“BioHySiC” and will take place in collaboration with IMBB-FORTH.
Required Qualifications
•	B.Sc. in physics/materials science/electrical engineering.
•	Ph.D. in physics/materials science/electrical engineering.
•	Experimental laboratory experience in the fabrication of semiconductor
devices.
•	Relevant publications.
Desirable Qualifications
•	Strong research interest in biomedical engineering.
•	Background in electrode applications in neuroscience.
•	Knowledge in neuromechanics.
•	Cell culture, animal models of neuroscience.
