Hello lab network community:
There are currently two, full-time engineering requisitions open in the MIT
Lincoln Laboratory Microelectronics Laboratory. Such openings are rare, one
is due to a retirement and the other is due to pursuit of a PhD. Please
feel free to forward the requisitions or apply.
1. Microelectronics Fabrication - Quality Manager (Requisition ID:
43119 )
The Microelectronics Laboratory is seeking a Quality Manager eager to apply
their science and engineering skills in support of prototype fabrication of
state-of-the-art superconducting circuits, quantum computing, radiation
hardened electronics, charge coupled imagers and more.
As part of the Microelectronics Laboratory staff, the successful candidate
will be primarily responsible for the monitoring and improvement of the site
quality management processes. Quality management system (QMS) focus areas
include the problem reporting process, formal corrective actions, key
performance indicators (KPIs), risk assessments, change control, performance
feedback, quality management awareness/training, annual strategic planning,
management initiatives, and audit programs. This role will also partner
across Division 8 Advanced Technology and Lincoln Laboratory to further the
Microelectronic Laboratory's mission to deliver microfabrication
capabilities for U.S. national security, scientific discovery, and economic
opportunity.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Provide oversight and drive continuous improvement in the lab's
management system processes
* Schedule and host weekly QMS working meetings as well as biannual
QMS reviews
* Collect and analyze feedback and key performance indicators to
drive improvement
* Promote QMS awareness/engagement and skills development across the
organization
* Motivate corrective actions teams from initiation through root
cause analysis, verification of effectiveness, and closure of issues
* Coordinate the internal and external registration audit programs
* Participate in risk analyses including supplier, process, and
capital equipment assessments.

superconducting circuits, quantum computing, radiation hardened electronics,
charge-coupled imagers, and more.
As part of a Process Engineering team, the successful candidate will be
responsible for developing, monitoring, maintaining, and improving base
processes and capabilities for assigned tools. Focus tool areas include
physical vapor deposition, epitaxy, and atomic layer deposition. Role could
include wet chemical processing, plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition,
wafer bonding, photolithography, reactive ion etch, and ion implantation
depending on experience value. For the successful candidate's assigned
tools, the person will:
* be the key unit process focal point coordinating and communicating
with all affected areas, including operations, maintenance, and process
integration teams,
* maintain and improve process capability, lot quality, and
operations efficiency,
* define and implement statistical process control; respond to
process shifts, excursions, misprocess events, and tool downs,
