[labnetwork] Tip Seals

Hi Travis and Labnetwork,

I’m in the same boat here—we have a nXDS10i scroll pump due for a tip seal
replacement.

The OEM kits are now over $700, and we’ve found some 3rd-party tip seals
for about $200 on ebay and Amazon from a smaller manufacturer claiming a
12-month lifespan. We haven’t made the purchase yet, so I’m wondering if
anyone has experience with these and could share how they’ve held up?  Of
course if anyone knows of bulk rolls as Travis mentioned, that would be a
great lead.

On a related note, we have another nXDS10i with a broken bearing. The major
rebuild kits are over $2000, which is quite expensive considering they’re
needed every 5 years. Does anyone know if it's feasible to buy the bearings
directly from the manufacturer and replace them in-house? We have a decent
machine shop with a hydraulic press if that helps.
