There are carbon evaporation rods for resistive heating out there. I only heard about them in the context of microscopy sample coating, though

Given temperatures for C evaporation, I doubt you can do a boat process.
One upon a time I (unintentionally) evaporated a piece of graphite crucible with electron beam. So that may also work. I suspect carbon on chamber surface and associated moisture absorption would be the next one to address

Does anyone know if you can Thermally evaporate carbon (amorphous), and if so, how you do this (what boat type etc)?
Thanks,
