Mike – that's really interesting.

In our experience, cleanroom plastic used to fabricate wet benches shouldn't be releasing contamination. The residue could be a sign that there's contamination in another part of the environment and is landing on the bench.

What is your preventative maintenance cleaning cycle for your cleanroom environment? How frequently are you wiping down the benches and surrounding areas? What exact wipers/solution do you clean with?

We would recommend you consider using a pre-wetted 70/30 IPA/DI water mix, or a 90/10 mix. Valutek pre-wetted wipers are assembled in a Class 10 cleanroom under Valutek inspection and strict process control to ensure Valutek quality standards and product specifications. The pre-wetted format enhances the wiper's absorbent capacity, and effectiveness, and reduces airborne contamination from traditional solvent bottle dispensers, spray, and spills.

If you're interested in a free wiper sample, I would be glad to send you a few different substrates and edge treatments to see what would work best for your specific application.

We are having an issue where we are finding a residue on the surfaces of the plastic parts of the wet benches in our cleanroom. It doesn't seem to appear on metal surfaces. The film can be removed by scrubbing with deionized water and a cleanroom wipe. Has anyone seen this issue with plastic surfaces? Is it just oxidation due to age? Any other thoughts?

Thank you
