Hi labnetwork,
* This question pertains to Au electrodeposition. A cyanide based plating solution is more stable than a sulfite based one but the latter is preferred due to safety concerns. We use a sulfite bath but have been experienced instability with solutions from at least two vendors. The Au precipitates out. We are thinking of switching to a cyanide bath.
* Does anyone use a MOT-GmbH tool of the kind pictured below for Au plating from a cyanide bath? While this tool has exhaust it is not placed inside of a fume hood. Hence, we want to double check, to see if anyone has used this configuration for Au plating from cyanide solutions, their experience and the safety precautions that were being taken.
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Vasu
