[labnetwork] Dicing Diamond?

Hi Demis,
    We had a synthetic diamond company adjacent to our campus that made thick crystals. I believe they just used a solid-state laser to cut them up.  I don't think it was anything exotic in terms of wavelength.  Somewhere in the IR, I think.

Does anyone have a recipe for dicing 500μm thick Diamond substrates?
Is such a thing even possible (I assume Diamond Grit vs. Diamond Substrate is a losing proposition?)

Let me know how you've handled this situation if it's come up - eg. Laser dicing (stealth/cutting) @ Disco service perhaps?
