Hi James,
I can echo some of the comments already we have had some hardware issues on our MLA150 that are very slow to resolve with Heidelberg assistance even on European time. Unfortunately I suspect that without a service contract as an academic institute we sit as a fairly low priority customer.
A bit of a left field suggestion but you could see if the Australian distributor for Heidelberg products is able to provide any service support. It's a company called Nano Vacuum, and while the time difference may still be challenging it seems they already have a couple of US based customers. https://nanovactech.com/ I'm not sure of their knowledge of the older tools however.
Best of luck
Sarah

Subject: [labnetwork] Heidelberg Expertise?
Hi Everyone,
We have an older Heidelberg mask writer and we have had some trouble getting good factory support. Does anyone know a company that does service on these besides Heidelberg?
Thanks, as always!
